Kennon Road temporarily closed due to falling rocks
BAGUIO CITY — A portion of Kennon Road at Camp 5 was temporarily closed on Sunday, Aug. 30, due to falling rocks amid continuous rains, according to a road advisory.
The advisory warned motorists, commuters and pedestrians of continuing erosion and urged them to exercise extra caution when passing through affected areas of the century-old road, which spans almost 34 kilometers from the boundary of La Union province to Baguio.

By 5 p.m., the road was closed at Camp 5.

As of 7 a.m. on Aug. 31, one lane at Camp 5 had become passable, but Kennon Road remained open only to residents.
A 10 a.m. update said clearing operations were ongoing at Camp 5, with assistance from barangay officials and barangay tanods.
Authorities continued to remind the public to remain alert for possible road hazards, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall, and follow safety advisories. /mcm
