The Bono East Regional Police Command has arrested two teachers of Techiman Senior High School (SHS) following the circulation of a viral video allegedly showing them assaulting a 17-year-old male student.

The two teachers, identified as 37-year-old English teacher Jerry Jones Owusu Bekoe and 44-year-old Information and Communications Technology (ICT) teacher Ameyaw Adusa, were arrested on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

According to the Police, the two are currently in custody assisting with investigations into the incident.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the alleged assault occurred on Friday, October 23, 2026, at about 4:00 pm on the school's campus.

The Police said the teachers allegedly confronted the Form Three student over claims that he had assaulted two Form One students before physically assaulting him.

The incident came to public attention after a video purportedly showing the assault circulated widely on social media, prompting concerns about the treatment and protection of students in schools.

The Bono East Regional Police Command said it was taking steps to ensure that the victim receives the necessary medical and psychological support following the incident.

It also assured the public of its commitment to safeguarding the welfare and protection of all students, as investigations continue.
