Sylvester Stallone has a vision for Andrew Garfield joining Tulsa King.
The crime thriller series was created by Taylor Sheridan, with Stallone playing Mafia capo Dwight "the General" Manfredi, who builds his own criminal empire in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The series is now in its fourth season and has been a major hit for Paramount+, leading to the upcoming spinoff series Frisco King that will follow hitman Russell Lee Washington Jr. (Samuel L. Jackson) now pursuing a criminal empire in Frisco, Texas.
In an exclusive interview with Marina Hyde on The Rest is Entertainment podcast, Stallone revealed that after spending time with Garfield, he wants the Academy Award nominee to play a villain in a future season of Tulsa King. Stallone pitched the idea of The Social Network actor playing a more "thoughtful" antagonist that Dwight would "have no idea how to stop," along with creating "a whole different dynamic" for the show. Check out his comments below:
I was with Andrew Garfield last night. I never thought we would hit it off, ever. And I thought, boy, I'd love to have him as a villain in Tulsa King because it would create a whole different dynamic. Instead of this big, lumbering, you know, villain, maybe it's, you know, it's thoughtful. Maybe it's AI-driven. Maybe it's something that I have no idea how to stop.
Paramount+ has renewed Tulsa King for season 5, but it is already in production, so it is likely too late to make Garfield a villain for the upcoming season. That being said, if the show's success continues and the creative team wants to continue it, a sixth season could happen that makes Stallone's pitch a reality. Along with playing the protagonist, Stallone is an executive producer and has co-written select episodes, while Terence Winter and Dave Erickson are the showrunners.
Mentioning that Garfield's potential villain could be part of an "AI-driven" threat is timely not only because of the growing prominence of AI, but with the actor playing Sam Altman, co-founder and CEO of the company OpenAI that created ChatGPT, in Artificial. The first reactions to Garfield's new movie were overwhelmingly positive, with many critics hailing it as the best performance of his career and cementing him as a frontrunner for the upcoming Academy Awards. It also has a 95% Tomatometer score based on 40 reviews ahead of releasing in theaters on December 25.

Choose the movie with the higher Rotten Tomatoes score.
Getting Garfield on Tulsa King would be a rarity since he primarily stars in movies rather than television shows, especially within the last 16 years. Exceptions include two episodes of Doctor Who during the David Tennant era, FX's Under the Banner of Heaven miniseries, and Apple TV's upcoming Wild Things. He is best known for The Social Network, his Academy Award-nominated performances in Hacksaw Ridge and Tick, Tick... Boom!, and playing Spider-Man/Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man films and Spider-Man: No Way Home. More recently, he starred in After the Hunt, The Magic Faraway Tree, and The Uprising.
If Garfield were to become part of the series, he would join the star-studded Tulsa King cast that, in addition to Stallone and Jackson, also included Frank Grillo, Robert Patrick, Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Jay Will, Garrett Hedlund, Neal McDonough, and Kevin Pollak. For those that have played villains, many of their characters have been aggressive mafia types, but per Stallone's pitch, Garfield would bring a different approach to his theoretical antagonist, creating the type of challenge that Dwight has never contended with before that he is unprepared to overcome.
