Iran’s leadership warns US against any new attacks after Trump’s threat at UN

Tehran’s leadership has warned the United States against any fresh attacks on the country after US President Donald Trump threatened to “annihilate” Iran in his speech to the UN General Assembly.

The US president said that he has a “big decision” to make on Iran — casting it as a choice between striking a deal after the midterm elections and annihilating Iran.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) warned against new attacks, saying Washington would gain “nothing but failure” from any such action, Iran state media Press TV reported.

The General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces warned Tehran would deliver “even harsher, crushing, and unpredictable blows,” and said the US’s repetition of “baseless allegations and threats” should not be interpreted as a sign of strength, Press TV reported.

And parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that Iran would not surrender or stop its activities in the face of US pressure, Iranian state media Tasnim reported.
