Indonesia brings 'House of Climate Solutions' pavilion to COP31

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Environment Ministry has prepared the Indonesia Pavilion at the 31st United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31) in Antalya, Türkiye, as a hub for soft diplomacy, climate action, resource exploration, and global collaboration.
“The Indonesia Pavilion is designed to showcase our real steps and collaborative actions in facing global climate change challenges,” Environment Minister Jumhur Hidayat said at the media briefing on Indonesia Road to COP31 here on Wednesday.
The pavilion carries this year’s official theme “Indonesia as the House of Climate Solutions: Strengthening Climate Resilience through Collaborative Action and a Strategic Net-Zero Pathway.”
At the event, the pavilion will hold five main activities, which are dialogue sessions, bilateral meetings with memorandum of understanding (MoU) signings, carbon connections, a digital exhibition, and a podcast program.
All dialogues will focus on five main topics, which are clean energy transition and green industrialization, nature-based synergy (Rio synergy), climate-resilient and zero waste cities, climate financing and carbon markets, and climate justice and inclusive society.
“A total of 67 dialogue sessions are scheduled, from the opening on November 8 to the closing on November 20, 2026,” Hidayat said.
He stressed that as a real commitment to environmental sustainability and carbon footprint reduction, the Indonesian delegation has also taken the initiative to plant trees to offset greenhouse gas emissions from delegates’ air travel.
A total of 2,000 mangrove seedlings were ceremonially planted on October 30, 2026 at Angke Kapuk Mangrove Forest in Jakarta.
Another 2,000 trees will be planted at Masigit Kareumbi Hunting Park Conservation Area in Bandung District, West Java, in cooperation with Wanadri, a wilderness and mountain climbing organization.
Participants unable to join the tree planting in person can contribute by purchasing carbon units on platforms such as Mandiri Green Living to offset their own estimated travel emissions.
"In addition, every international participant registered for Indonesia Pavilion sessions will also be automatically compensated through the planting of one tree per participant,” he added.
