MSME Ministry to expand KUR loan access for laundry businesses

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has assured Indonesian laundry business owners of broader access to loans under the People’s Business Credit (KUR) program.

MSME Minister Maman Abdurrahman said his ministry would facilitate laundry businesses in accessing KUR in response to their calls for government assistance to secure funding for growth and expansion.

“We will facilitate the association in connecting with banks participating in the KUR program. Our team will promptly follow this up together with the association,” he said at the Indonesian Laundry Association’s 11th anniversary event in Jakarta on Sunday (September 13).

Abdurrahman stressed that expanding access to financing for laundry businesses has become increasingly important as the industry continues to grow across various regions.

However, he emphasized that financing support must be accompanied by efforts by MSMEs to improve their business management and development capabilities to ensure sustainable growth.

He added that the Ministry of MSMEs would take note of the aspirations raised by the association and coordinate with relevant institutions to address them.

He also underscored the need to place efforts to strengthen the laundry sector within the broader MSME empowerment agenda, emphasizing the importance of creating a supportive business environment for laundry enterprises to grow.

In this regard, the minister encouraged MSMEs, including laundry businesses, to improve their ability to understand market trends. He said identifying regions where the market is already saturated is essential to avoid excessive concentration of businesses.

By doing so, Abdurrahman said, laundry businesses can better adjust their development strategies to regional market conditions and avoid counterproductive expansion.

He said the Ministry of MSMEs remains committed to providing assistance and support to MSMEs across the country to promote sustainable business growth and development.
