Translate

The Bekwai Circuit Court has sentenced two men to 20 years’ imprisonment each with hard labour for robbing a motorbike at Edwenase, near Jacobu, in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region.

The convicts, 23-year-old galamsey operator Emmanuel Adams and 22-year-old Okada rider Vincent Aidoo, alias Kakai, were sentenced by the court presided over by His Honour Isaac Appiatu.

Speaking to Adom News correspondent Isaac K. Normanyo at the court, the Ashanti South Regional Police Command Court Officer and Acting Public Affairs Officer, ASP Lloyd Baidoo, said the two committed the robbery on October 4, 2026, within the jurisdiction of the Bekwai Circuit Court.

ASP Baidoo said the sentences amounted to a total of 40 years’ imprisonment with hard labour, with each convict serving 20 years.

He cautioned the youth against engaging in robbery and other criminal activities, warning that anyone arrested for such offences would be prosecuted and dealt with according to law.
