Writer Tadashi Agi, Artist Jun Nakanishi's Foodies Manga Ends
Kodansha's Comic Days website posted the final chapter of Tadashi Agi and Jun Nakanishi's Foodies manga on September 16. The manga's final chapter will become free to read on September 30.
The manga launched on Comic Days in August 2025. Agi is credited for the original story, Nakanishi is drawing the manga, and Shokichi is credited for the original concept and research cooperation. Kodansha published the manga's first compiled book volume in October 2025 and the fourth volume on July 17.
The manga centers on Takumi Itadaki, the grandson of a legendary chef, who gets assigned by his company to launch a new gourmet review website. Takumi starts the search for true Foodies who can give rare food reviews. Coincidentally, a major food company called Tenshoku starts the same concept. Takumi starts a fierce tug-of-war with Tenshoku's foodie hunters to try to recruit gourmet individuals to their side.
Tadashi Agi (which is a pen name for writer Shin Kibayashi and his sister Yuko Kibayashi) is best known for the manga Drops of God. Kibayashi is a prolific writer who has written numerous manga under multiple pen names. Under his real name, he has written such manga as Kaze to Kaminari and Shima Kōsaku no Jiken-bo. His other pseudonyms include Yuya Aoki (GetBackers), Ryō Ryūmon (Bloody Monday), Seimaru Amagi (Kindaichi Case Files original idea), and Yuma Ando (Psychometrer, Psychometrer Eiji, Sherlock Bones).
The Drops of God manga inspired an internationally co-produced, multilingual live-action television series on Apple TV+ (now known as just Apple TV) in 2023, as well as a second season, which debuted on January 21.
A television anime adaptation debuted on April 10. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.
The Gifted manga, written under his pseudonym Seimaru Amagi with artist Rima Amamiya, is getting an anime adaptation in 2027.
