Clashes erupt between Palestinians, Jewish West Bank settler group during unapproved hike - report

Translate

A Jewish settler group clashed with West Bank Palestinians after entering a village during an unapproved hike, Army Radio reported on Friday.

The group had not received approval from IDF forces prior to entering the West Bank, a security source told Army Radio.

The village is several hundred meters away from an illegal outpost, according to Army Radio.

Initial reports allege that over a hundred Palestinians attacked the group with rocks after the group started a fire in a Palestinian home. Footage circulated online showing a fire in one of the village homes which was allegedly started by the settler group, and Army Radio later reported that a security official had confirmed that the settlers had set fire to a Palestinian home in the village.

The IDF entered the village in order to extract the group, and one Palestinian was shot and heavily wounded after throwing a rock at point-blank range at a civilian security coordinator who was first to arrive on the scene, according to initial reports.

There were no injuries reported to either the hiking group or the IDF soldiers.
