Devastating news for Sundowns and Bafana Bafana defender!

Translate

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has delivered devastating news regarding Bafana Bafana defender Khuliso Mudau.

Speaking to the media on Thursday ahead of the MTN8 semifinal clash with Golden Arrows, Cardoso confirmed that Mudau will be out of action for six months.

Mudau injured himself during his team’s 2-0 league win over Marumo Gallants on Wednesday.

And Cardoso said he spoke to the Sundowns medical team, and they revealed that Mudau captured his Achilles tendon, and thus, will be out for six months.

This means Mudau is only expected to return to the training grounds between February and March 2027.

HUGE BLOW FOR BAFANA BAFANA

Mudau’s injury setback is also a huge blow for Bafana Bafana who get their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers underway in September.

He is not the only player that will miss a chunk of Bafana Bafana qualifiers, with the other one being Mbekezeli Mbokazi.

Whoever comes in as the national team coach, possibly Pitso Mosimane, will have to find solutions to the injury problems facing Bafana Bafana.

Bafana Bafana take on Guinea in their opening match of the qualifiers before traveling to Eritrea for their second encounter.
