Springboks hit record high on world rankings

The Springboks have once again proved that they are undoubtedly the best team in World Rugby, having clinched a 3-1 series win with another comprehensive victory over the All Blacks in Baltimore on Saturday.

Despite briefly losing the top spot in the rankings when the Springboks were defeated in the opening match of the series at Ellis Park, Rassie Erasmus’ charges quickly bounced back and charged to three successive victories.

In fact, the Springboks have now won eight out of their last 10 Tests against the All Blacks, for so long seen as their closest rivals.

Furthermore, South Africa banked another 0.75 ranking points this past weekend, pushing their total up to 95.09, the first time that the four-time world champions have gone beyond the 95-point barrier since the rankings were introduced in 2003.
