DAP reps who fail to meet KPIs will be dropped, says Loke

DAP’s elected representatives must meet the party’s strict key performance indicators (KPIs) or risk being rejected as candidates for future elecions, says party secretary-general Loke Siew Fook.
Loke said the party’s elected representatives must serve with integrity and discipline, and remain fully committed to their constituencies, Berita Harian reported.
“Failure to meet the KPIs will mean they will not receive the surat watikah (candidate appointment letter) from the party for future elections,” he said when opening the Perak DAP convention in Ipoh today.
Also present was Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming.
Later, Loke told reporters that DAP had implemented a strict monitoring system to ensure its elected representatives fulfil their responsibilities to their constituents.
He said the KPIs covered their service to the public, attendance and duties in their respective constituencies, participation in party activities, and efforts to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
“I believe the system we have implemented has been effective. DAP’s elected representatives in Perak are active and have been fulfilling their duties.
“If we find anyone failing to meet our expectations, we will change them,” he said.
Loke said the monitoring system was intended to encourage elected representatives to perform better and meet the public’s expectations.
The system would also serve as a reminder to representatives whose performance fell short of expectations that they faced a greater risk of being dropped as candidates.
He said the system had been implemented nationwide, although each state could establish its own evaluation mechanism.
Loke said the party would continue to improve the system to address any shortcomings and ensure it benefitted the public.
