The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service has announced that applicants can now check the status of their applications for its ongoing recruitment exercise.

The agency disclosed this in a notice signed by its Director of Human Resources, ACG Issaka Ahmed, and posted on its X handle on Wednesday.

According to the notice, applicants can check their status through the official recruitment portal using their registered details.

“The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service wishes to inform all applicants and members of the public that the status of applications is now available for checking on the official recruitment portal, recruitment.naqs.gov.ng,” it stated.

NAQS said applicants whose status indicates progression to the next stage should prepare for the Computer-Based Test.

“Applicants whose status indicates progression to the next stage are hereby notified to prepare for the Computer-Based Test (CBT), which will hold online via the recruitment portal from Thursday, 20th August 2026,” the agency said.

It added that further details on the exact schedule would be communicated to applicants through their registered email addresses.

“Applicants are advised to remain vigilant and rely only on official information from the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service,” the agency said.

The latest announcement follows NAQS’ earlier postponement of the release of the recruitment shortlist, which was initially scheduled for August 13.

Agricultural quarantine service postpones release of recruitment shortlist

The agency had attributed the postponement to the need to ensure a thorough, transparent and accurate recruitment process.

NAQS said the recruitment exercise, which opened on July 28 and closed on August 10, attracted 606,928 attempted applications, of which 407,659 were successfully submitted.
