Ahead of the release, actor Suriya shared a behind-the-scenes video that gives a closer look at Ashok Selvan’s preparation for one of the film’s most challenging action sequences. The video shows the actor getting ready to jump into a body of water from a height of around 70 feet. It captures the planning, location checks, and training that went into making the sequence. However, the actual jump has been kept out of the video, allowing the film to retain the moment as a suspense element.

The BTS footage shows that the sequence required more than just a camera-ready performance. The team carried out a detailed recce of the location before filming, while scuba divers inspected the waterbody to reduce the risks involved. Ashok also trained in a swimming pool before attempting the stunt at the actual location. The water at the filming spot reportedly reaches depths of around 150 feet. The actor can be seen speaking about his determination to perform the scene convincingly, stressing that the audience should feel the action is real.

Ashok’s sister Abinaya Selvam, who is also associated with the film’s production, and Preity Mukhundhan expressed concern over the risk involved, while also praising the actor for taking up the challenge.
