PASIR MAS: A man who rammed a General Operations Force (GOF) vehicle while attempting to evade arrest has been remanded for four days from today to assist in police investigations.

The remand order was issued by Pasir Mas magistrate Wan Abdullah Mohd Rodzlad.

The 35-year-old suspect will remain in remand until Oct 28. The order was issued under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Police are investigating the suspect for several offences, including under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Investigations are also being conducted to determine his alleged involvement in drug trafficking activities in Rantau Panjang and Pasir Mas.

In the 1.30pm incident yesterday, the suspect allegedly rammed a four-wheel-drive vehicle carrying four GOF personnel during a pursuit along Jalan Pekan Lama, Rantau Panjang.

The collision left a 41-year-old corporal with a fractured right arm, while the three other personnel escaped unhurt.

The suspect was arrested after the Toyota Camry he was driving became immobilised.

A check of the vehicle uncovered six bottles containing a dark-coloured liquid suspected to be codeine.
