India will face a stern challenge on Day 6 of the Chess Olympiad 2026 as it will take on Uzbekistan in the open section and the United States of America in the women’s section.
The Indian team had a mixed outing on Day 5, having defeated Netherlands 3-1 in the open section but losing to Poland 1.5-2.5 in the women’s event.
On Day 6, D. Gukesh will face Shamsiddin Vokhidov on Board 4 while the Indian’s opponent at the World Championships Javokhir Sindarov will face Arjun Erigaisi on Board 2.
In the women’s section, R. Vaishali has been rested for Savitha Shri, while the rest of the field remains the same.
