Hollywood Celebrates Midterm Results: “The Blue Wave Made Landfall, And Now The Red Wedding Begins,” Says Jimmy Kimmel

After collectively holding is breath, much of Hollywood breathed a sigh of relief tonight as Democrats posted a stunning electoral rebuke of President Donald Trump, his policies and the candidates he backed.

By 9 p.m. PT, the blue wave had become a blue tsunami, sweeping liberal candidates into the majority in the U.S. House of Representative and Senate. Additionally, Georgia, Iowa, Ohio and Texas all flipped to Democratic governors.

Those celebrating the victories included Jimmy Kimmel who, in his monologue, referenced Trump’s recent fascination with other peoples’ posteroirs.

“The only ass on Trump’s mind tonight is the one that got handed to him,” joked Kimmel.
