An older brother was injured after being hacked by his younger brother in Purok Camote, Barangay Ilaya, in the town of Ronda on Monday, October 26, DYSS Super Radyo GMA's Decemay P. Padilla reported.

The victim is the older brother, alias Nilo, 30 years old, while the suspect is his younger brother, alias Dan, 22 years old, a laborer; both are residents of Barangay Ilaya in the said municipality.

The Ronda Municipal Police Station received a call regarding a hacking incident and they immediately responded.

According to the police investigation — based on the statement of the person identified as "Solidad," who is the mother of both the victim and the suspect — the two men had an argument last Sunday, October 25.

During the incident, the suspect — believed to be under the influence of alcohol — suddenly entered the house and hacked his older brother multiple times with a machete while the latter was eating.

As a result of the incident, the victim sustained hack wounds on various parts of their body.

He/She was immediately taken to the Barili District Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the suspect and the machete used in the hacking attack were taken to the police station for proper disposition and custody. — BAP, GMA News
