Teacher accused of sexual assault

KUALA LUMPUR: A male teacher at a Tamil primary school in Pahang has been accused of sexually abusing a 7-year-old pupil by forcing the boy to perform oral sex on him as punishment for not completing his homework.
The alleged abuse came to light after the boy disclosed the incidents to his father, who lodged a police report on Oct 28.
According to the report, the Year One pupil told his father that the teacher took him to the science laboratory storeroom where he was instructed to sit on a chair.
The teacher then exposed himself and forced the child to perform oral sex on him.
The father alleged that the teacher also instructed his son to perform other sexually inappropriate acts.
Pahang acting police chief Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob said the suspect was arrested on Oct 29 and remanded for four days from Oct 30 to Nov 2.
He has been released on bail pending medical reports involving the victim.
"Police have received 10 reports lodged by non-governmental organisations. However, we have not received any reports from other alleged victims," said Azry.
He added that the investigation was being conducted by Jerantut police under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, and the case would be referred to the Bukit Aman Sexual, Women and Child Investigation Division.
Meanwhile in Kota Baru, a teacher was charged in the Sessions Court with two counts of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old male pupil in a hostel warden's room in Dabong last year.
Mohd Faiz Rohizat, 34, who is the hostel warden, pleaded not guilty to both charges before judge Zulkifli Abllah.
The offences allegedly took place at 1pm in April 2025 and 4pm in September 2025.
The charges, under Sections 14(b) and 14(d) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, carry a maximum jail term of 20 years and whipping upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Syazalia Che Suhaimin did not offer bail.
Defence counsel Siti Fathma Nuraimi Mohamad sought bail, saying the accused was a civil servant with a wife, a 3-year-old child and parents to support.
The court allowed bail of RM10,000 with one surety, subject to conditions that he provide his residential address, refrain from contacting or harassing the victim and prosecution witnesses, report to the nearest police station once every two months and surrender his passport.
