MTN ADVERT

The police have arrested two suspects in an alleged staged kidnapping involving a two-year-old boy in Plateau State.

The police said a 34-year-old man, Nansik Sule, conspired with the child’s mother, Catherine Davou, to fake the boy’s kidnap.

According to a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Ani Iniedu, the alleged scheme initially involved a ransom demand of ₦7 million.

The police said further investigation revealed that the child was kept at Mr Sule’s residence, where the ransom demand was subsequently increased to ₦15 million.

Another suspect, Luka Butdam, was also arrested for allegedly making calls to the child’s grandmother in connection with the ransom demand, the statement said.
