Delhi airport, High Court bomb threat day before Independence Day, confirmed as hoax

The Delhi airport and High Court received bomb threats via e-mail Friday morning, a day before Independence Day celebrations in the national capital. The e-mail – a screenshot of which The Indian Express has seen – began with a declaration – “Delhi banayGa Khalistan”, or ‘Delhi will become Khalistan”, and warned of a “Bomb Dhamake” on August 15.

The e-mail seemed to warn of a blast at the High Court at 2.11 pm and another at district courts an hour later.

Security protocols and measures at these locations have been increased and checks are underway. However, so far no suspicious objects have been found.
