Panda Bear Unveils New Live Album

Translate

When Animal Collective’s Noah Lennox was recording Sinister Grift, his 2025 album as Panda Bear, he mostly operated as a one-man-band, playing guitar, bass, keys, and drums at different points on the LP. Given the limitations of being just one guy, touring required a different approach. Lennox recruited Tim Koh to take over bass, Maria Reis on keyboards and percussion, Tomé Silva on drums, and Spirit of the Beehive’s Rivka Ravede on samplers; all four handled backing vocals.

Now, Lennox has announced a new live album capturing the quintet in motion. The 17-track PB Band Live 25 at Power station arrives December 11 on Domino’s live studio recording series Domino Documents. The LP gathers cuts the group laid down at the famed New York studio last fall in the wake of a tour across the U.K. and Europe. The first preview, a live version of “Take Pills,” is out now. Listen below.

Since releasing Sinister Grift in 2025, Lennox has been back in his collaborative bag. He shared another joint album with Sonic Boom, A ? of When, in July, and reunited with Animal Collective for a run of live performances dedicated to their 2005 album, Feels. After initially plotting just two dates—one in New York and one in Los Angeles—the group doubled the number of shows in response to a ticketing glitch.
