KIDAPAWAN CITY, North Cotabato — Residents of Quezon City and other urban areas could soon taste fruits from Kidapawan City, North Cotabato, which can be bought at prices lower than those sold in malls.
The Kidapawan fruits will be displayed during an expo at the Quezon City Hall grounds on September 21-25.
City Agriculturist Marisa Aton said 10,000 kilos of various fruits will be transported to Quezon City to help local farmers promote their produce and establish possible markets and tie-ups in the Luzon area.

Fruits such as marang, durian, lanzones, mangosteen, avocado, rambutan, pomelo and the Lakatan banana variety will be available during the fruit expo.
Lakatan is considered here as the “fruit of all seasons” because of its availability throughout the year.
The five-day fruit expo will give people in Luzon, or even Kidapawenos living in Quezon City, a chance to savor the bounty of Mindanao, particularly Kidapawan City, Aton said.
The move to bring Kidapawan fruits to the metropolis came after Kidapawan Mayor Jose Paolo Evangelista and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte agreed to support the marketing of their local products. /mcm
