A new Pokémon event has just been officially confirmed for November 2026, and it will mark the debut of specific Pokémon and variants for Trainers to catch. A lot’s been going on with the classic creature-catching franchise, as it completes its 30th anniversary in 2026. For example, the 30th anniversary Pikachu redesign in Pokémon has just been unveiled, featuring a new take on the iconic Electric-type creature and the poster Pokémon for the series. Even without celebrations, however, the franchise is getting new content, and November will be a big month.

As was reported by Game Rant, Niantic has just announced a brand-new Wild Area event for November 2026, which will bring forth several additions to Pokémon GO, including the debut of two new Pokémon and several variants. According to the report, the in-person versions of the event will happen in Sendai, Japan, and Mexico City, Mexico. These in-person events will happen from November 6 to November 8, and on the following weekend, between November 14 and November 15, a global version of the Wild Area event will occur.

Several Pokémon, including Hisuian Sliggoo, are featured in Pokemon GO artwork.

Exclusively during the in-person versions of the event, attending Trainers with event tickets will be given access to the debut of Hisuian Sliggoo and Hisuian Goodra, with Hisuian Sliggoo appearing in the wild. Both creatures will debut with their Shiny forms promptly available in Pokémon GO, so lucky players may be able to encounter a Shiny Hisuian Sliggoo and then evolve it into a Shiny Hisuian Goodra. It’s worth noting that these two Pokémon will not be available during the Global version of the Wild Area event.

During the event, players will also be able to challenge three-star raids to face and potentially capture a Machamp wearing a modern jacket. Dynamax Dialga and Dynamax Palkia also make their debut during November’s Wild Area event. Mighty Pokémon in Pokémon GO are also making a comeback, and some creatures you encounter throughout the event will have special attacks. Highlight periods will rotate during the event, featuring both Steel-type and Dragon-type Pokémon.

Several Pokémon are in Japan in Pokemon GO Wild Area 2026 artwork.

Ticket holders may also be able to encounter Latios and Latias in Pokémon GO as part of the Wild Area event, as they’ll be attracted to Incense items (excluding Daily Adventure Incense). Tickets for the upcoming Wild Area event can be purchased via the official Pokémon GO website. As is the case with previous Wild Area events, this will be a phenomenal opportunity to catch some pretty powerful Pokémon, including resilient Steel-types and versatile Dragon-types.

It’s a pity that the debut of Hisuian Sliggoo and Hisuian Goodra will be limited to the in-person events in Japan and Mexico, especially considering Hisuian Goodra’s gameplay potential. Nevertheless, as is usually the case, the global debuts of these Pokémon should come within a few months. This is one of the biggest Pokémon events in the mobile game this year, so be sure to mark your calendar.
