Karangu Muraya Breaks Silence on Ex-Partner Triza, Says She Has Moved On
Akorino musician and philanthropist Karangu Muraya has addressed questions about his former partner, Triza Njeri, insisting that he will not publicly discuss her private life because she has since remarried.
Popularly known among his supporters as Mr Wonderful, Muraya made the remarks during an appearance on Obinna Show Live at Obinna TV Studios, where he sat down with host Oga Obinna to discuss his ministry, philanthropic activities and personal life.
During the interview, viewers repeatedly flooded the live chat with questions about Triza, revisiting past marital disagreements and the emotional challenges surrounding their relationship.
After noticing the persistent comments, Obinna asked Muraya to clarify who Triza was and address the public’s curiosity about their past.
Karangu Muraya says Triza has moved on
Muraya responded calmly, confirming that Triza was his former partner but declining to delve into the details of their relationship.
He explained that she had moved on and was now married to another man, arguing that her current relationship deserved privacy and respect.
“Yeye alisha move on,” he said.
The musician added that he did not consider it appropriate to discuss another man’s wife publicly, urging viewers to stop pressing him for details about their past.
“Na siwezi ongelelea bibi ya mwingine hapa. Just ignore anyone who asks you about her. People do separate,” he added.
His remarks appeared to draw a boundary between his past relationship and Triza’s present life, as online audiences continued to raise questions about their separation.
Muraya opens up about online scrutiny
The singer also reflected on the pressure of having his private life repeatedly discussed on social media, recalling a difficult period in Dubai when rumours about his marriage caused him considerable emotional distress.
He said he once went live on TikTok to defend himself against the allegations, a decision he now views as a mistake made while under pressure.
Muraya also addressed questions about his responsibilities as a father, maintaining that he actively supports all his children.
He explained that he remains in the official school communication groups for each of his children to keep track of their education and follow their progress.
Karangu speaks about losing his brothers
Beyond his relationships and family responsibilities, Muraya opened up about personal tragedies, including the deaths of his two brothers, Paul and his younger sibling.
He expressed frustration over what he described as false claims circulating online about his family and charitable work.
The Akorino musician also highlighted the extent of his humanitarian activities, revealing that his 64-page passport was nearly full, with much of his international travel involving medical trips to India.
“Passport ya 64 pages iko karibu kujaa na nikiangalia mahali nimeenda kwingi ni India,” he said.
Muraya explained that many of these trips involved accompanying sick Kenyans seeking treatment abroad, underscoring the role medical assistance has played in his philanthropic work.
Oga Obinna issues KSh5 million challenge to Muraya’s critics
Toward the end of the interview, Obinna defended Muraya against online critics who had questioned the musician’s level of education.
The presenter issued a KSh5 million cash challenge, giving critics one week to prove that they had travelled more internationally or handled greater monthly financial transactions than Muraya.
The challenge came amid continued public scrutiny of the musician’s personal life, finances and charitable activities.
