Chiamaka Yusuf, daughter of late Nollywood actor Diewait Ikpechukwu, appeals to the Actors Guild of Nigeria to remove her father’s burial poster.

Chiamaka Yusuf, daughter of late Nollywood actor Diewait Ikpechukwu, has appealed to the public to respect her privacy following her father’s death.

In an emotional video shared on Instagram on Friday, Chiamaka, popularly known as Chiamax, urged members of the public not to announce her father’s death without her consent.

She also called on the Actors Guild of Nigeria to remove an alleged burial poster of the actor, insisting that she should be the one to announce his passing.

Appearing tearful in the video, she asked people to stop calling her and allow her to grieve privately.

“Actors Guild, I don’t want you guys to post my daddy. Nobody should post my daddy’s poster. You people should leave me alone. Nobody should call me. I’m still wearing my daddy’s shirt; he wore it yesterday,” she said.

She further appealed to the guild to take down the poster, stressing that she wanted to make the announcement herself.

“You people should please take it down. If anybody should announce his passing, it would be me. Nobody would do that for me, please,” she added.

The actor reportedly died on Thursday at the age of 71, following a prolonged illness.
