The Weekender

The Celebrity Traitors will reveal whether actress Sharon Rooney or comedian Joanne McNally will be banished after last week’s cliffhanger left their fates hanging in the balance.

The two faithfuls both fell under suspicion during Friday’s roundtable and received an equal number of votes.

In a second round of voting, content creator and traitor King Kenny held the final and deciding vote, but the episode concluded before revealing who would be eliminated.

Viewers will finally find out what happens next when the BBC reality show returns with its penultimate episode on Thursday.

Tensions are growing among the contestants as the finale approaches, with the traitors seemingly flying under the radar.

The faithfuls are beginning to doubt each other, with either Rooney or McNally facing banishment.

Other famous faces who came under suspicion during last week’s roundtable included Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock and actor Sebastian Croft.

Meanwhile, Kenny and fellow traitors Maya Jama and James Acaster were deemed the most trusted by their fellow contestants during last week’s challenge.

The trio were selected for a special power, with the traitors ultimately deciding to give Kenny a dagger that grants him a double vote at the roundtable.

The traitors are also expected to commit their latest murder after the outcome of the roundtable is revealed as the show whittles down the remaining contestants ahead of tomorrow’s finale.

The latest contestant to fall victim to the traitors was comedian Miranda Hart, who was murdered for being “a good detective”.

Hart became emotional upon her exit and said the show had allowed her to “get back and do the thing that I love professionally, and do the things I love personally, wandering round the Scottish Highlands and connecting in nature”.

“There were times I didn’t think that would be possible again,” she said.

Hart has previously spoken about the fatigue she suffers because of her chronic illness, which she has linked to her Lyme disease diagnosis.

Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the show sees 21 celebrity contestants take part, with those assigned as faithfuls attempting to identify the contestants who have been made traitors. The traitors “kill off” players in the middle of the night.

The stars are playing the game at Ardross Castle in the Highlands, with a cash prize of up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice up for grabs.

The Celebrity Traitors returns to BBC One on Thursday at 8pm.
