As expected, the sporting justice system has also shelved the investigation into Gianluca Rocchi and referees, confirming no direct contact with clubs including Inter.
The scandal had at first seemed to be on the same level as Calciopoli when it erupted in April, with refereeing designator Rocchi under formal investigation for sporting fraud.
Rocchi, referees and clubs cleared

It focused primarily on incidents during the 2024/25 season, suggesting that Rocchi had tried to influence the decisions made by VAR officials in the hub of monitors in Lissone, near Milan.
There were also intercepted wiretaps with discussions on which referees not to assign to Inter matches, because there were some officials that were not ‘liked’ by the club.

The investigation for all these elements ultimately petered out, with the Milan Public Prosecutor announcing on July 15 that the case had been dismissed.
Now the sporting justice system has followed suit, finding no evidence of direct contact between clubs and Rocchi or his assistant Andrea Gervasoni.
This effectively ends the matter, unless any new evidence were to come to light, but that seems unlikely at this stage.
