Sony is going through a period of pretty unprecedented unpopularity right now, after their decision to move away from physical media drew the understandable ire of fans, both old and new. That controversy isn't going to go away any time soon either, unless the unlikely scenario of the company reversing its decision comes about at some point.

That said, the PlayStation remains the only console that a lot of players have access to right now, particularly with just how much new ones cost in light of the hardware crisis. If you are still maining the console, you likely also take advantage of PlayStation Plus, which brings monthly free games to players at no cost beyond their subscription.

Now, we're starting to learn about what November is going to look like for the service, and it's off to a less than encouraging start that won't fill large portions of the community with joy.

One of the most galling things about PlayStation Plus (and other equivalent services) is that, while we obviously get new games to play every month, we also lose games that fall by the wayside at the same time. November is no exception, and we're losing a lot of titles that fans will have been actively playing.

Over on Reddit, one user shared a list of games that are departing in November, and there were all sorts of comments from fans encouraging others towards specific titles, before they go away.

"I started playing Hotshot Racing yesterday and it's been a great dopamine rush so far. If you liked Outrun, you'll enjoy this too," one comment read.

While another added, "Talos 2 my beloved. Play it while you can, although the DLCs are great, so you may just want to buy the game. Up to you guys, but definitely try it."

A third was upset at Red Dead Redemption 2 cycling in and out so regularly, saying, "What's even the point of adding and removing RDR2 every few f**king months? It's a nearly 10 y/o game which doesn't have a PS5 port."

The full list of games that will be leaving PlayStation Plus in November is as follows:

  • Football Manager 2026
  • The Talos Principle 2
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Cricket 24
  • Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom
  • Hotshot Racing (Big Boss Bundle)
  • Rock of Ages III: Make & Break
  • Earth Defense Force 4.1 - The Shadow of New Despair
  • Rapala Fishing Pro Series
  • Yet Another Zombie Defense HD

It's undoubtedly a longer list than we get in a lot of months, but plenty of the titles are what we would consider more niche right now. The removal of GTA V is likely being done to accommodate the arrival of the next game in the series next month, while RDR2's constant cycling in and out of the system is being done to incentivize purchases. All in all, though, it's a rough start for PlayStation Plus next month, and there will need to be some solid additions to get things back in an overall positive place.
