Music composer Anirudh Ravichander and Sun Group heiress Kavya Maran’s wedding reception has become a talking point, with prominent political and film personalities among those invited.

One notable moment was Kalanithi Maran’s meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay to invite him to the wedding reception.

Anirudh was also present when the invitation was handed over to the Chief Minister. Kavya’s mother, Kavery Kalanithi, was also part of the gathering. The meeting attracted attention because of Vijay’s position as Chief Minister and Anirudh’s popularity as one of Tamil cinema’s leading music composers.

The invitation also brings together two prominent names from Tamil Nadu’s entertainment and public life.

Kalanithi Maran also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend an invitation to Kavya and Anirudh's wedding reception.

Kavery Kalanithi was present, along with Anirudh’s parents, Lakshmi and Ravichander. In another meeting, Kalanithi Maran invited Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar to the celebration, with Kavery accompanying him. The meetings underline the high-profile guest list being planned for the occasion.

However, receiving an invitation does not confirm whether any of the dignitaries will attend the reception.

The wedding of Anirudh Ravichander and Kavya Maran is reportedly scheduled to take place in Greece on November 11, 2026, followed by a reception in Chennai on November 21. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has also confirmed receiving an invitation from Kavya’s parents, Kalanithi Maran and Kavery Maran.

Anirudh Ravichander, well-known for his popular hits and movie scores, is one of the most renowned music directors in Tamil cinema, whereas Kavya is connected with the Sun TV channel and the Sunrisers team. The marriage of the two has brought together two prominent families from the world of entertainment and business.
