How Silvana Estrada Expanded the World of ‘Vendrán Suaves Lluvias’

The Mexican singer followed up her gorgeous album with 'Pensarte' and the M. Ward-assisted 'Todo Baile'

Back in October 2025, Silvana Estrada sent the world a bit of warmth and healing through Vendrán Suaves Lluvias, one of the most gorgeous, intricately rendered albums of that year. Through lush orchestral arrangements, Estrada sang about finding joy after heartbreak and loss — and made her fans feel a little less alone in during bleak times.

Now, Estrada has decided to keep building on Vendrán Suaves Lluvias with a few additional songs. Earlier this month, she premiered two new tracks — “Pensarte” and “Todo Baila,” the latter which features M. Ward. Estrada tells Rolling Stone those releases had all been part of the album’s original journey. “It’s a lot of songs that were absolutely part of the process, but maybe at the moment of doing the track list, I didn’t feel like they belong to Vendrán Suaves de Lluvias,” she says. “What is great about doing this extended version is that it’s not about creating a world, but it’s more about showing sort of the behind the scenes of this world or a little bit of the process that was.”

“Todo Baila” is a hopeful celebration on everything that moves around us. Estrada wrote it during the pandemic alongside singer-songwriter Alex Ferreira, and then revisited later with M. Ward. “I’ve been a fan of Silvana’s voice and songwriting for many years, so it was a pleasure to meet in person during my last tour of Portugal in 2023,” he said in a statement. “I loved the demo version she sent me of ‘Todo Baila’, so I added some translations and vocals and guitars while I was in London over the summer.”

“Pensarte,” meanwhile, is a much more emotional song that captures the more tender side of the album. Estrada sings about trying to hang onto a relationship, even when she knows it’s ending. “If it’s not possible, if it’s already too late I would at least like to think of you,” she sings over heartbreaking guitars. She showcased both songs during live Gallery sessions in mid-October.

Vendrán Suaves Lluvias got a huge response from critics, especially from the Latin Recording Academy. The album scored multiple Latin Grammy nominations, including some of the most coveted categories, like Album of the Year and Record of the Year. Estrada can’t fully wrap her head around it. “I don’t even how to start,” she says. “I feel absolutely grateful. It’s an honor. For me, it’s super important: I’m an independent artist. It’s crazy. I’m in six categories, but at least three or four of those categories are very big. Those categories were absolutely out of my imagination because that it’s huge and most of the artists this year are, you know, really big artists with big labels and super big teams. My team is like two or three people.”

For her, the recognition is a way to show people how to stay true to their art. “I hope this will be also an inspiration, especially for little girls, to know that they can do whatever they want to do,” she says. “They don’t need to play any game. They can invent their own way of being an artist in this world, and their own to be a singer-songwriter or producer.”

Estrada has been busy on tour, sharing the album all over the world. “One of the most beautiful things about doing this album is all the touring I’ve been doing,” she explains. “I’ve being playing this music in many, many countries and in many continents, so for me it was very clear that these songs had to cross many boundaries as possible.”
