Diane Lane Joins Li Jun Li in Hulu Limited Series ‘Victoria’

Diane Lane has joined the upcoming Hulu-Onyx Collective limited series “Victoria,” Variety has learned.

The erotic thriller, which was announced last week with a series order, will star Li Jun Li as Maxine Tao, who is described as “a brilliant con artist who finds herself in a dark web of power, luxury and the crosshairs of a seductive killer who knows her secrets.”

Lane joins as Lee Calloway, said to be “a savvy venture capitalist accustomed to getting what she wants and has worked too hard to let anyone stand between her and the win.”

This is the latest in a string of high-profile TV roles Lane has taken on in recent years. She previously appeared in shows like “A Man in Full” and “House of Cards” at Netflix, as well as Season 2 of “Feud” for FX/Hulu and “The Romanoffs” at Amazon. She is primarily known for her roles in films like “Under the Tuscan Sun,” “Unfaithful,” and “Hollywoodland.” Her work in “Unfaithful” earned her both an Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations, while she was also nominated for Golden Globes for “Under the Tuscan Sun” and the TV movie “Cinema Verite.” “Cinema Verite” also earned her an Emmy nomination, as did “Feud,” while Lane was nominated for an Emmy early in her career for the CBS miniseries “Lonesome Dove.”

Christy Hall is the creator, writer, executive producer, and showrunner on “Victoria.” Geeta Vasant Patel will direct the pilot and executive produce. Lilly Burns, Elise Henderson, and Tony Hernandez of Counterpart Studios executive produce, with Li co-producing in addition to starring.
