Stardew Valley really is one of those evergreen games that continues to bring in thousands of players each evening, all of whom are looking to unwind in their own little slice of paradise(ish). Originally created by just one person, Eric Barone, known to many as ConcernedApe, the game became spectacularly popular, and it continues to have one of the most dedicated audiences around.
As such, it was huge news when it was confirmed that the game was getting a 1.7 update, particularly after many had assumed that the creator's attention had largely turned to his next game, The Haunted Chocolatier. Now, we finally have an update on when we can expect to see the 1.7 update, and it might be considerably bigger than we were first expecting.
As first reported by Gamesradar+, Barone shared some more information on the now-fabled 1.7 update, including giving us a better idea of its scope, and when it might be live in the game.
"We're working on the 1.7 update, which is looking to be the largest Stardew Valley update ever," he says. "It's jam-packed. Clint and Sandy [new potential partners] are just the tip of the iceberg – there's so much more in the update. You guys are in for a real treat, and it'll probably come out sometime next year."
Given that we're less than two months away from next year, that's very exciting news, and it should come as quite a relief to those who are waiting in the wings.
