Marcos cites Presidential Airlift Wing

President Marcos joins the Philippine Air Force in celebrating the 58th found- ing anniversary of the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing at Villamor Air Base in Pasay yesterday. The 250th PAW serves as the Air Force’s premier air mobility unit, providing transportation for the President and his family, visiting heads of state and other high-ranking dignitaries.

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has commended the men and women of the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing (PAW) for helping the government swiftly reach and deliver aid to the distressed during times of calamities.

Speaking at the 58th anniversary of the PAW yesterday, the President described the unit as the “multiplier” whose continuous training and modernization allowed it to respond safely and effectively to increasingly complex missions, including support for official engagements, emergency response or humanitarian operations.

“In these missions, you do more than just provide transportation. You help the government reach our people when they need us most,” Marcos said at the Philippine Air Force headquarters at the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, citing his day-long inspection of flooded areas in Central Luzon yesterday.

From the 701st through 707th Special Mission Wing, the 250th PAW now “has been very much state-of-the-art,” the President said.

He presented awards and citations to officers and personnel for their exemplary service.

The 250th PAW is the Air Force’s premier air mobility unit, providing safe, secure, efficient and dignified air transportation for the President, First Family, visiting heads of state and other ranking dignitaries.
