India added two more shooting medals at the Asian Games, with Suruchi Singh and Kamaljeet winning gold in the mixed 10m air pistol final and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Rudrankksh Patil and Niraj Kumar claiming silver in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions team event.
Suruchi and Kamaljeet triumphed with an Asian-record score of 484.6 points, giving India its second gold of the Games after the women’s cricket team. The Indian pair led from the early stages and held off a late South Korean challenge to win by 6.6 points. Iran took bronze with 415.8 points.
In the rifle event, India finished second with 1762-94x. Aishwary (589-34x) and Niraj (588-34x) also qualified for the individual final in third and fourth place, respectively.
