London travel news LIVE: Overground line suspended due to trespasser as disruption ‘hits evening rush hour’

Commuters are facing major disruption on the Tube into the evening rush hour after a drain collapsed at Baker Street.

The Circle line, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City lines are all part-suspended and have severe delays due to the infrastructure damage this morning, that has already impacted services for most of the day,

Meanwhile a trespasser on the Libery line has led to the suspension of the line.

Meanwhile, there were severe delays on the Elizabeth line this morning between Heathrow/ Reading and Paddington following a death on the tracks in the Hayes area.

British Transport Police and paramedics were called at 5.10am to reports of a casualty on the tracks and a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

BTP said enquiries into the circumstances leading up to the death are ongoing.

Liberty line suspended due to trespasser on track

The Liberty Overground line has been suspended due to a trespasser on the track at Emerson Park.

It is unclear at this point how long the disruption will last but TfL says London Underground are accepting tickets via any reasonable route.

Elizabeth line delays

The Elizabeth line has seen further delays due to a passenger falling ill on a train. They have now been removed and trains are moving again.

Level crossing barrier fault causing delays to and from Eastbourne

A fault with barriers at a level crossing at Hampden Park is causing delays to journeys to and from Eastbourne.

This is affecting Southern services between Ore and London Victoria & Brighton and also between Eastbourne and London Victoria, Ashford International & Brighton.

Fire near track between Limehouse and West Ham High Level

A fire next to the track between Limehouse and West Ham High Level means that the line is blocked.

Train services running across the whole c2c network may be cancelled, delayed or suspended, with disruption expected until around 3.45pm.

National Rail offers advice for those affected by ATC cancellations

National Rail is offering flexibility to ticket holders who have been affected by airline disruption due to the recent air traffic outage.

Passengers affected by a flight cancellation or amendment and have a train ticket dated Tuesday September 8 or Wednesday 9 September can use their original train ticket on the new date for which their flight has been rebooked.

Customers have been told they can also use their existing ticket to return home on the same day in the event of a flight cancellation if they have already commenced your journey.

Customers must show their airline ticket when using their ticket at an alternative time or on an alternative date.

A fee-free refund within 28 days of date of travel has also been offered if passengers no longer travel, for abandoned journeys or for your original rail ticket if you had to purchase a new one because of a flight diversion.

Central line update

There are severe delays between Leytonstone and Epping on the Central line due to a signal failure at Snaresbrook.

There are also minor delays between North Acton and Ealing Broadway & West Ruislip and between Leytonstone and Hainault due to train cancellations.

There is a good service on the rest of the line.

Tramlink update

There is no service between Beckenham Junction and Harrington Road on the London Tramlink due to a signal failure at Harrington Road.

Tickets are being accepted on London Buses and Southern Railway.

There is a good service on all other tram routes.

Tube and Overground update

There is still no service on the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines between Edgware Road and Euston Square, and severe delays on the rest of the lines, due to the collapsed drain on the track at Baker Street.

The issue has also resulted in a part suspensions on he Metropolitan line between Baker Street and Aldgate, with severe delays on the rest of the line.

Meanwhile, there are also minor delays between Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 4 on the Elizabeth line.

Person dies on tracks this morning

The British Transport Police (BTP) has confirmed that a person died on the tracks earlier this morning.

The incident, which had previously been described as a “customer incident” has resulted in severe delays this morning.

A BTP spokesperson said: “We were called at around 5.10am this morning (10 September) to reports of a casualty on the tracks in the Hayes area.

“Officers responded with paramedics, however, sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries into the circumstances leading up to their death are ongoing."

Disruption between London Bridge and Norwood Junction

A safety inspection of the track between in the Honor Oak Park area means that trains are having to run at a reduced speed on some lines between London Bridge and Norwood Junction.

Some rains running to and from these stations may be cancelled or delayed, with disruption expected until around 1pm.

This is affecting Southern trains between London Bridge and West Croydon, Epsom, Crowborough, Uckfield, and Caterham, as well as Thameslink services between Peterborough and Horsham, between Cambridge, Bedford and Brighton, and also between Bedford, London Bridge and Three Bridges
