600 supporters march for Tinubu in Lagos

A political support group in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State, under the banner of the Azerbaijan Movement, has staged a 600-man solidarity walk in support of President Bola Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The walk attracted APC members, women leaders, youths and other supporters who marched through major streets in Ifako-Ijaiye to mobilise grassroots support for the party’s candidates.

The procession commenced at Elliot and passed through major streets in the area before terminating at Nationwide.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the coordinator of the movement, Abayomi Omotayo, said the walk was organised to demonstrate the group’s support for the APC and its candidates.

“The walk is to demonstrate our support for the APC and its candidates, and to show our commitment to grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections,” Omotayo said.

He said the movement was particularly committed to mobilising support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

“We are committed to mobilising our people to support President Tinubu as we approach the 2027 presidential election,” he said.

Omotayo described Tinubu as a leader whose policies were laying the foundation for sustainable development and urged residents to support his bid for another term in office.

“We believe the policies of President Tinubu are laying the foundation for sustainable development, and we are calling on residents to support his administration,” he said.

The coordinator also expressed support for Adewale Adedeji, the APC candidate for Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly election.

According to Omotayo, Adedeji had made an impact in the constituency through educational, infrastructure and empowerment initiatives.

“Adewale Adedeji has continued to impact the constituency through educational, infrastructure and empowerment initiatives. We believe his efforts deserve the support of the people,” he said.

He urged APC members and supporters to remain united and intensify mobilisation across the six wards in Ifako-Ijaiye ahead of the elections.

“We must remain united and continue our mobilisation across all six wards. Sustained grassroots engagement will be important,” he stated.
