The Cowboys' Jerry Jones, the Clippers' Steve Ballmer and the Mavericks' Miriam Adelson are among the richest American sports team owners—a group of 20 who are all worth at least $12.2 billion.

Steve Ballmer remains America’s richest sports team owner, sitting on a $156 billion fortune while his Los Angeles Clippers have rocketed in value to $7.5 billion, nearly four times what he paid in 2014.

Forbes’ 2026 ranking of the 20 wealthiest U.S. sports owners places the Microsoft co-founder firmly at No. 1, up 2% from a year earlier. Walmart heir Rob Walton follows at $132 billion, with Anaheim Ducks owner Henry Samueli third at $33.8 billion.
