#SHOWBIZ: Lufya Omar urges netizens to stop bashing Dr Fie over timeline error

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress and singer Lufya Omar has publicly apologised to correct a factual error about how her friend, influencer Dr Afifah Hidayah Tawfeq (Dr Fie), met her husband, Captain Amrul Nizar Anuar.
The mix-up had sparked online backlash and unwarranted criticism against Dr Fie.
Taking to Instagram to set the record straight, Lufya clarified that she actually introduced the couple during a Ramadan fast-breaking event in February 2026, correcting her previous statement that they met in 2025.
"There was a slight error in the facts I shared earlier regarding how Dr Fie and Captain Amrul met," Lufya wrote.
"To clarify, I actually first introduced them during a buka puasa gathering this Ramadan, in February 2026, and not during last year's Ramadan as I mistakenly wrote."
Lufya expressed deep regret that her oversight led to widespread misunderstandings, resulting in Dr Fie becoming the target of malicious allegations and hurtful comments on social media.
She urged the public to stop wild speculation and quit blaming the influencer.
"I sincerely apologise for the confusion caused, especially since the mistake in the year triggered misunderstandings and negative comments directed at Dr Fie," she said.
"Please do not make someone else bear the consequences and face severe criticism just because of a factual mistake in my post. The fault lies entirely with me."
Recalling their initial meeting, Lufya shared that she felt an instant chemistry between them right from the start.
She expressed immense joy over their union and offered her heartfelt prayers for their marriage to remain blessed and last a lifetime.
"I am so happy to see their joy and pray that the marriage of Dr Fie and Captain Amrul will always be blessed by Allah SWT, filled with abundant love, and endure until Jannah," she added.
"I hope this explanation sets straight all the misunderstandings that have arisen."
Dr Fie officially tied the knot with the businessman on Sunday.
