Bengaluru FC returned to Fatorda and secured all three points with a dramatic 2-1 victory over FC Goa in the ISL on Friday, courtesy of a late winner from Soham Varshneya.

The closing stages witnessed several contentious decisions, beginning with Ashique Kuruniyan receiving a yellow card for stopping an attacking move around the 90-minute mark.

Goa then appealed for a penalty after Ricky appeared to nudge Shamsanga from behind following a pass from Jorge Ortiz, but the referee waved away the appeals.

The controversy continued when Sana Singh cleared the ball out of play, only for the resulting throw-in to be awarded to Bengaluru, a decision disputed by the home side.

From the ensuing passage of play, Ashique cut inside from the left and found Varshneya, who took a touch before unleashing a left-footed shot into the net to give Bengaluru the lead.

Goa defender Sandesh Jhingan protested the decision and urged the referee to consult his assistant, while goalkeeper Bob Jackson was booked.

There was further drama when Ortiz received a lofted ball and attempted a shot that prompted another handball appeal, but the referee awarded a corner.

Bengaluru held on to secure a 2-1 victory in a dramatic finish at Fatorda.
