Bangladesh bowled out for 64 in first innings of second test v Australia

Aug 22 : Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc took five wickets in 22 balls as Bangladesh were bowled out for 64 in their first innings after lunch on day one of the second test in Mackay, Queensland on Saturday.

• Left-armer Starc finished with 6-12 after completing the sixth-fastest five-wicket haul in tests. The left-hander holds the record for the fastest, having taken five wickets in 15 balls against West Indies in Kingston last year.

• Australia captain Pat Cummins took 3-25 after winning the toss and attacking on a bouncy pitch prepared like a typical Gabba wicket.

• Starc struck with the first ball of the match to remove opener Shadman Islam and captured the first five wickets, leaving the tourists reeling at 12 for five after 6.4 overs. He returned to have tailender Shoriful Islam caught behind for 14 to wrap up the innings.

• Apart from Shadman, opener Tanzid Hasan, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and wicketkeeper Litton Das all fell for ducks off Starc's bowling.

• Shadman was caught in the gully after sending a thick edge flying to Cameron Green.

• Tanzid Hasan drove loosely at a fuller ball to nick to Beau Webster in the slips, while Shanto was trapped lbw on the next ball.

• Number three Mominul Haque managed nine runs before nicking to Green at the gully with another loose drive at a wider Starc delivery. Starc grabbed his fifth wicket with another lbw to remove Das.

• Cummins bowled Bangladesh number five Mushfiqur Rahim for five and had all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz caught in the slips for 11. The home captain also had tailender Taskin Ahmed caught for one at square leg.

• Josh Hazlewood chipped in with the wicket of Hasan Mahmud for 10.

• Bangladesh lead the series 1-0 after a nine-wicket win in the series-opener in Darwin.

• Matt Renshaw to open the batting for Australia in his first test in over three years, with Jake Weatherald dropped after consecutive failures in Darwin.

• Bangladesh made one change to their Darwin XI, bringing in left-arm paceman Shoriful after his recovery from a hamstring injury. He replaced fellow quick Ebadot Hossain.

• Mackay's Great Barrier Reef Arena became Australia's 12th test venue.
