Undercover police arrest three haredi riot suspects after Jerusalem rock throwing
Israel Police officers arrested three suspects for throwing rocks at Jerusalem District police officers in Mea She’arim on Monday, Israel Police said in a statement.
The incident occurred as officers from the Lev HaBira station and the Special Patrol Unit (YASAM), together with municipal enforcement personnel, conducted an operation in the Jerusalem neighborhood, where they removed Palestinian flags and painted over graffiti.
During the operation, a group of rioters began throwing stones and other objects at the officers, who responded using riot-control measures.
Suspects arrested by undercover police
Using an undercover team of police officers operating among the rioters, police were able to identify and arrest a suspect, who is a minor.
Near the same location, rioters surrounded a female police officer. Additional police officers arrived at the scene and arrested two suspects.
Police took all three suspects to a station for further questioning.
According to the statement, Israel Police are continuing searches to locate and arrest additional suspects believed to have been involved in the incident.
