Federer Reflects On 25 Years Traveling The World On Tour
Reflecting on his illustrious 25-year career, tennis legend Roger Federer has opened up about what he truly cherished most, emphasizing that the joy of globe-trotting, building lifelong friendships, and connecting with fans meant just as much to him as lifting trophies.
Speaking on the experience of traveling the world, Federer in a chat with Tennis World, admitted that competing across different continents and cities, from major Grand Slam hubs to exhibition stops, was an unforgettable journey.
While he amassed 103 ATP titles and 20 Grand Slams, Federer stressed that the human element, including bonds built with players, tournament organizers, and ball kids, defined his legacy.
“It’s a reality check in a major way. I played such a small part in the big scheme of things in tennis. Tennis is always the winner, the biggest of all,” Federer said.
“But that I maybe played a small role in it is kind of cool for me. Hopefully, I made people dream and believe that they could do it themselves, or just let them forget about everyday worries, or have them travel around the world and follow me and see me play tennis.

“That Hall of Fame weekend brought back all those memories. I had a lot of people come up to me and just thank me for playing tennis. That was obviously very sweet. But, like I said, it’s a great reality check. It was a beautiful moment. I’m happy I could live it.”
Though retired from professional play, Federer remains connected to the sport through occasional appearances, charity work, and events like the Laver Cup, continuing to share his passion for the global tennis community.
