Lingusamy reacts to viral dance video with Radhika and Sarathkumar, says ‘I am not a trained dancer’

Director Lingusamy is trending on social media after a video of him dancing to a popular Tamil song went viral. The filmmaker was seen dancing to 'Ava Enna Enna Thedi Vantha Anjala,' from Gautham Vasudev Menon’s 'Vaaranam Aayiram,' at an event in Malaysia.

The clip drew mixed reactions; several viewers appreciated his energy while others posted critical comments. The video has brought renewed attention to the director.

Lingusamy explains viral dance video

Responding to the reactions, Lingusamy clarified that the dance was an impromptu moment and should not be taken too seriously. Speaking about the incident in an interaction with Dinamalar, he said he had been invited to Gautham Menon’s musical event in Malaysia.

During the programme, he was asked to dance, and he decided to join in for fun. Lingusamy also acknowledged that he had noticed the wide range of responses to the video.

'I am not a trained dancer,' he said, explaining that it was simply a light-hearted moment at the event. His clarification comes as the clip continues to circulate online.

From 'Anandham' to 'Sandakozhi': Lingusamy’s journey in Tamil cinema

Lingusamy made his directorial debut with 'Anandham,' which had a positive reception and established him as an emerging director in the industry. 'Run,' starring Madhavan and Meera Jasmine, was the next movie that made him a successful director. He also had other popular movies like 'Sandakozhi' and 'Paiyaa.' These movies helped establish him as a director known for action movies along with romance and entertainment. Despite the ups and downs in his career, his earlier films remain familiar to Tamil cinema audiences.
