Prime Minister Andy Burnham confirmed for "unexpected" guest appearance on iconic TV show

Andy Burnham is going where no UK Prime Minister has gone before: Gogglebox. He'll be joined by Mayor of Liverpool Steve Rotheram in the very near future, all in the name of Stand Up To Cancer.
The special episode, packed with famous faces as well as Gogglebox regulars, will also feature Joe Lycett and the Sugababes.
A Channel 4 spokesperson said: "Nothing is off limits as Gogglebox continues to celebrate the simple joy of watching television together."

They added that Burnham, Rotherham and the other participants will "be sharing hilarious, honest and often unexpected reactions to the week’s biggest television moments as well as poignant stories all in aid of Stand Up To Cancer".
Deadline notes that no previous PM has been on the show as one of its critics before, though Jeremy Corbyn appeared when he was leader of the opposition.
More big names for the programme's line-up are yet to be announced.
Lycett, recently seen in The Celebrity Traitors, will be appearing alongside his aunties Pauline and Margaret, who have previously been seen on Late Night Lycett and The Lycett Arms.
In a teaser clip shared on social media, Joe and his aunties said that they were "watching a lot of TV and eating chocolate".

Channel 4's TV listings reveal that Gogglebox for SU2C will see its cast watching and reacting to shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, The Celebrity Traitors, Countdown and Only Connect.
Is the Prime Minister on Team Traitor or Team Faithful? And what does he think of the new Strictly host? Perhaps we're about to find out.
In other Gogglebox news, last month it was announced that two new families were joining the regular roster of the show's stars, including its first ever cast member with Down's syndrome.

The newbies are mother and son Sandy and Max from North London, and Newcastle-based brothers Steve and Mark.
Sandy called joining Gogglebox "total magic", sharing: "To have people see the superstar, who is my son, and realise that a person with a learning disability can be smart, opinionated and hilarious is very important for me. My greatest joy is being his mum."
Gogglebox for SU2C airs on Friday (23 October) at 9pm on Channel 4.
