政府於2014年成立「海運及空運人才培訓基金」，歷年注資後總承擔額達5億元。運輸及物流局長陳美寶指，截至今年9月，基金已累計惠及逾2.4萬名學生及在職從業員，並吸引逾14萬人次參與各類行業推廣活動，稱教育與人才是城市發展與產業升級的底蘊，未來將打造國際航運與航空人才高地。
