Moroccan forward Alaaeddine Ajaraie was felicitated for a club record before NorthEast United’s match in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2026-27 match against Mohun Bagan Super Giant in Guwahati on Monday.
The forward got a special memento of a home jersey with ‘50’ printed on it, along with his name, immortalising his 50-goal tally for the Highlanders — the first by a player at the club.
“Alaaeddine Ajaraie receives a special memento from the Club for becoming the first player in NorthEast United FC history to score 50 goals. A milestone etched in Highlanders history,” the club said in a statement.
Ajaraie joined the Highlanders in the 2024-25 season and has been a crucial leader in the club’s attack. He won the Golden Boot in consecutive editions of the Durand Cup — in 2024 and 2025 — and also lifted the ISL Golden Boot in his maiden season in Indian football.
