He is about to spend three weeks away from his wife and four children camping in the Australian jungle on I'm A Celebrity.

But Wayne Rooney, this year's biggest signing, won't be too lonely as The Mail on Sunday can reveal he has a longstanding friendship with his fellow campmate, Chloe Burrows.

The Love Island star, 31, is this year's glamour signing and struck up an unlikely bond with the former Manchester United star, 41, when they played in the charity football match, Soccer Aid.

A source close to the influencer has told the MoS: 'Chloe and Wayne bonded over their I'm A Celebrity booking back in May when they played in Soccer Aid together.

'Talks were well underway for the show at that time, so they both knew they were heading into the jungle. They were on the same team and got along really well.

'It's nice that they already have that connection going in. They had a catch-up about how they were both feeling about the show, and it will be great to watch their friendship grow even more once they're in camp.'

At the charity football match in Stratford, the reality star pouted for a selfie with the former England captain as she captioned the post, 'What an amazing experience.'

Ms Burrows found fame as a 'bombshell' on the seventh series of Love Island in 2021, where she made it to the final with her now ex-boyfriend, Toby Aromolaran.

The pair broke up a year later and the Kiss FM presenter has a new partner, Ruben Moreira, a Welsh building company owner who she has been dating for over a year and is expected to fly to Australia and greet her over the bridge when she leaves.

Meanwhile, Wayne's wife and childhood sweetheart, Coleen Rooney, who was on the show in 2024, is highly anticipated to jet out with their youngest sons Kit, 10, and Cass, eight.

The boys travelled out to support their mother with Coleen's parents, Colette and Tony, when she was on the ITV flagship show.

The friends will be joined by a star-studded line-up including Gavin and Stacey actress Joanna Page, 49, Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson, 48, and presenter AJ Odudu, 38, and the YouTuber, Sharky, 30.

Also heading into the jungle are comedian Leigh Francis, 53, actress Claire Sweeney, 55, model Leomie Anderson, 33, and journalist Mariella Frostrup, 63.
