Hanuman Ansh beats Toxic: sleeper hit crosses Rs 366.45 crore

‘Hanuman Ansh’, the devotional film directed by Vishal Chaturvedi and starring Shobhinaw Satyaa as spiritual guru Neem Karoli Baba, is on an unstoppable record-breaking streak at the box office, both in India and abroad.

Now in its 47th day of theatrical release, the film has earned Rs 331.70 crore gross and Rs 280.93 crore net domestically, pushing its global total to Rs 366.45 crore.

'Hanuman Ansh' box office day 47 collection

The film remains steady even in its seventh week, collecting Rs 4.90 crore from 7,702 screens on day 47 (seventh Tuesday), marking an 18% jump from the Rs 4.15 crore it earned on day 46 (seventh Monday). This, however, followed a sharp drop of nearly 70% from its day 45 (seventh Sunday) collection of Rs 13.75 crore, which itself was a notable rise over the Rs 9.75 crore earned on day 44 (seventh Saturday), up further from the Rs 5 crore collected on day 43 (seventh Friday).

'Hanuman Ansh' week 7 box office trend

Based on the current trend, Week 7 earnings are expected to fall well short of Week 6's Rs 80.25 crore, which had already dipped from Week 5's Rs 90.25 crore, the film's best weekly haul so far.

That figure marked a 30% jump from Week 4's Rs 61 crore, which in turn was over six times higher than the Rs 10.40 crore collected in Week 3.

‘Hanuman Ansh’ has played a significant part in slowing down what could have been last month's box office juggernaut, Geethu Mohandas' pan-India action thriller ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups’. Featuring an ensemble cast including Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria, the film hit theatres across several major Indian languages on August 26.

By that point, though already in its third week, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ saw a surge in daily collections on its third Sunday, crossing the Rs 1 crore mark for the first time with Rs 2.5 crore. From there, the sleeper hit didn't look back, going on to earn Rs 10.40 crore in Week 3, a sharp jump from its opening week collection of Rs 1.08 crore and Week 2's Rs 40 lakh, according to Sacnilk.

'Hanuman Ansh' surpasses 'Toxic' worldwide

Currently in its seventh week of release, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has steadily edged past Toxic's box office numbers, both in India and globally.

The film's worldwide total now stands at Rs 366.45 crore, exceeding the Yash-starrer's Rs 342.07 crore by more than Rs 24 crore. Apart from ‘Toxic’, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has also surpassed other big-ticket releases such as Sunny Deol's ‘Batwara 1947’, Emraan Hashmi's ‘Awarapan 2’, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar's ‘Haiwaan’, and Kunal Kemmu's ‘Vibe’.

'Hanuman Ansh' international release and earnings

‘Hanuman Ansh’ was released only in India to begin with, until Hombale Films took on its international distribution following the film's unexpected domestic boom in Week 3. It later opened overseas on September 11, earning Rs 34.75 crore internationally so far, a sum that has further strengthened its worldwide collection.
