Captain Raphinha netted another hattrick as Barcelona thrashed Sevilla 3-1 to maintain its perfect start in La Liga 2026-27 on Saturday, September 20.
Barcelona moved provisionally six points clear of second-placed Real Madrid, which has a game in hand and plays Atletico Madrid on Sunday.
The visitor had taken the lead when Youssouf Fofana headed in after 18 minutes, but the lead lasted only four minutes before the Brazilian scored his first to equalise.

Sevilla continued to make life uncomfortable for Barcelona, which was struggling to create chances, and almost retook the lead before halftime. An inspired Fofana backheel released Correia, but Rodri made a goal-saving tackle.
He then added his second with a header after some smart footwork from Lamine Yamal, before running onto a Yamal pass to finish his hat-trick.
Barcelona controlled possession as the game fizzled out in the closing stages and threatened to add a fourth as Sevilla’s challenge faded, although Andreas Christensen’s second-half injury was a concern for Hansi Flick.
